Robyn's fetish Challenge # 122 anything but a card

This photo shows the drawer does pull out.

Hello, Today our challenge at Robyn's Fetish is any thing but a card. The Image is Quill and Paper by Robyn's Fetish. You can find it in the store here. http://robynsfetish.com/shop Robyn's Fetish is the sponsor. The winner gets their choice of 3 digital stamps from the Robyn's Fetish store.

Today I am sharing a box I made. You will need 2- 12 x 12 pieces of heavy cardstock.  Cut the first piece of cardstock at 10 3/4" x 9". Score it on the long side at 1", 2", 8 3/4", 9 3/4". Turn your paper and score it at 1", 2", 7", 8". i found it easier to just turn my paper for all four sides and score it at 1" and 2". In each corner cut out the L shape. There is a great tutorial on this at  cards made by hand with step by step instructions and photos. http://joaniscardsmadebyhand.blogspot.com/2010/06/easel-box-tutorial.html  This section is the drawer.
For the second piece cut to 83/4" x 11". at 1" and 7 3/4" on the 8 3/4" side. or 1" on both sides. turn the paper and score it at 5' and 6". This section is the box.
Used a strong adhesive such as Score tape for your box. I found notching the tabs does help the box to go together much easier and neater. Make sure the tabs are underneath the the longer pieces, hidden.

Once the box is together you are ready to decorate it. I covered the top and sides of the box. I added a button on the drawer to help open it. I cut out words and an ink bottle  with Cricut cartridges. The quill and paper image is colored with Copics and cut out.

Copics used are E000, E00, E01, E02-candle and quill, YR23, Y15, Y02-flame, E29, E37, E41, E43-candle holder. Black Gelly Roll pen was used on the writing on the paper and tip of quill.

I got the ideal to make this box from this tutorial.
http://joaniscardsmadebyhand.blogspot.com/2010/06/easel-box-tutorial.html

The words on the box are from Cricut cartridge Blackletter cut at 1". I cute the font and shadow font.  The ink bottle is from Sentimentals at .84" row 4 button1 image, shift and layer and shift.

The papers used are from Recollections-tan and dark brown, Colorbok-print, sienna for box-DCWV, Georgia Pacific-white for printing off image.

The button I got in a grab bag from Hobby Lobby.

                        Here are the note cards I made for Pop's box. They are 4 14 x 5 1/2".

Thanks for dropping in for a visit. I enjoyed showing Pop's box to you. Edwina

Then I placed seven around the circle edge. using Mini dots as needed to hold the ribbon petals in place. Then I brought the second layer in more and placed them between the other petals. Using 2 memory glue dots I placed a button on the center of the flower.

I hand cut out the leaves in a light olive green card stock. Then I used Copics YG67, YG 06, YG95, YR21 to color the leaves leaving some of the original color of the paper.

Here is a photo showing 2 sides. The rhinestone flourish is by Recollections and i cut them apart and continued the flourish on each side all the way around. The flourish is different on each side as you can see here.

The gold braided trim is from Paper Temptress. I used 2 yards.

Hello, today i am sharing a card using paper piecings from Scrapping with Lisa. this is called Crow with Pumpkin. You can find it here http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/category_26/Halloween.htm

I cut a piece of orange cardstock 1" x 3 " I put ATG runner on the back on all 4 edges then folded it around the wooden toothpick. Then I added the sentiment to the flag.

The candy corn is from a digital paper by Create with TLC. You can find it here http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/product_view/4944678 I cut out the pieces and glued them on the ground piece of the easel card. I took a 1" x 1/2" foam potdot by Recollections and covered it with green cardstock. This is the seat for the crow. I left his legs unglued from the seat so I could fold the card up and mail it to someone.

Reading Writing and Arithmetic Blog Hop

School days, school days
Dear old golden rule days
Readin' and 'ritin' and 'rithmetic
Taught to the tune of the hickory stick
You were my queen in calico
I was your bashful barefoot beau
And you wrote on my slate"I love you, so"
When we were a couple of kids

The three Rs, a widely used abbreviation for the basic elements of a primary school curriculum: reading, ’riting (writing), and ’rithmetic (arithmetic) which is what the theme is for this month's Her Craft Kre8tions challenge!

Each Design Team member has received a piece of chalkboard paper approximately 6 x 6-inches. Now, where the challenge lies, is Design Team member is to create a "school" type theme whether it be a class lesson or something that their beau or them could have written on their slate. We're going to see how creative this piece of chalkboard paper can be made into with their "School Lesson" of "readin', 'ritin' and 'rithmatic.
