Fresh Brewed Designs spotlight challenge

Hello, Today at Fresh Brewed Designs we are using a technique called Spotlighting.  I am using Fresh Brewed Designs "Hedgehog" digi. You can find it here http://freshbreweddesigns.com/ You can find the Fresh Brewed Designs challenge blog here http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/

I have never done this before so I was glad Heather gave us a link to Split Coast Stampers to learn about it. The link is http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/spotlighting_technique/

To start off I flipped the digi and saved it. Then I put the original image in word and then the flipped image right next to it. I made sure they were the same size. I printed the image off twice.

Once the images were printed I took the one and spritzed it with water then ran Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distressed ink pad over it. Spritzed it again with water and dabbed it with a paper towel. Once dry I mounted it on a piece of brown cardstock leaving a border of 1/8" all around.

Next I colored the digis a little pass where I was planning to cut it with Copics.  I cut the second image so I had the faces and front paw of the digis. Then I mounted it on brown cardstock leaving a 1/8" border and pop dotted over the other image.

The sentiment is by Create With TLC. You can find it here http://www.artfire.com/ext/shop/studio/tlc4lo  I pop dotted the sentiment.

The 3 dots are paper Candi by Craftworks.

The papers are by Recollections- brown, tan, Georgia Pacific- white, prints were in my scrape box.

The card is 5" x 6 1/2".

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you will join in the challenge this month at Fresh Brewed Designs. Here is the link http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/

Have a good day. Edwina
