Robyn's fetish Challenge # 122 anything but a card

This photo shows the drawer does pull out.

Hello, Today our challenge at Robyn's Fetish is any thing but a card. The Image is Quill and Paper by Robyn's Fetish. You can find it in the store here. Robyn's Fetish is the sponsor. The winner gets their choice of 3 digital stamps from the Robyn's Fetish store.

Today I am sharing a box I made. You will need 2- 12 x 12 pieces of heavy cardstock.  Cut the first piece of cardstock at 10 3/4" x 9". Score it on the long side at 1", 2", 8 3/4", 9 3/4". Turn your paper and score it at 1", 2", 7", 8". i found it easier to just turn my paper for all four sides and score it at 1" and 2". In each corner cut out the L shape. There is a great tutorial on this at  cards made by hand with step by step instructions and photos.  This section is the drawer.
For the second piece cut to 83/4" x 11". at 1" and 7 3/4" on the 8 3/4" side. or 1" on both sides. turn the paper and score it at 5' and 6". This section is the box.
Used a strong adhesive such as Score tape for your box. I found notching the tabs does help the box to go together much easier and neater. Make sure the tabs are underneath the the longer pieces, hidden.

Once the box is together you are ready to decorate it. I covered the top and sides of the box. I added a button on the drawer to help open it. I cut out words and an ink bottle  with Cricut cartridges. The quill and paper image is colored with Copics and cut out.

Copics used are E000, E00, E01, E02-candle and quill, YR23, Y15, Y02-flame, E29, E37, E41, E43-candle holder. Black Gelly Roll pen was used on the writing on the paper and tip of quill.

I got the ideal to make this box from this tutorial.

The words on the box are from Cricut cartridge Blackletter cut at 1". I cute the font and shadow font.  The ink bottle is from Sentimentals at .84" row 4 button1 image, shift and layer and shift.

The papers used are from Recollections-tan and dark brown, Colorbok-print, sienna for box-DCWV, Georgia Pacific-white for printing off image.

The button I got in a grab bag from Hobby Lobby.

                        Here are the note cards I made for Pop's box. They are 4 14 x 5 1/2".

Thanks for dropping in for a visit. I enjoyed showing Pop's box to you. Edwina
